EASY TO LEARN & REMEMBER
Based on user studies and neurological insights TailType is designed to be easy to learn & remember. In TailType the letters with a similar ‘tail shape’ (ending shape of their writing path) have been grouped together. For instance, the o, b and p all end in a circle so they have been grouped with the rabbit who has a circular tail shape. This logical visual grouping makes the letter placement extremely intuitive and therefor easy to learn and remember.

SUPPORTS LEARNING
Due to its unique design TailType is especially suitable for dyslexic, children and low-literate. TailType supports the letter shape learning process and is therefore even applicable in an educational setting.

LANGUAGE INDEPENDENT
TailType keyboard is language independent, meaning that it is suitable for typing in all Latin script languages. Since the letters have been grouped according to their visual shape, instead of their linguistic characteristics.

SIMPLIFIED INTERFACE
While designing the TailType interface it was aimed to always limited number of options shown at ones. This design strategy, known as Hick’s law, effectively fastens button search time & effort.

SIMPLIFIED FUNCTIONALITY
TailType purposely does not include auto-correct or word suggestion/prediction. It thereby supports multi-language usage, as you will no longer have to annoyingly switch between dictionaries. Having no auto-correct or word suggestion also means that no data is every gathered about what you type. So your privacy is truly protected.

ORIGIN
TailType was designed by NJB Design in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The app is coded by Binarapps in Poland. And its development was powered by Delft University of Technology.
